Apple launches two new live global radio stations

Apple Music is everywhere


With its ever-increasing popularity, Apple Music has recently launched two new live worldwide radio stations, Apple Music Hits, which will play tunes from the ’80s, ’90s, and 2000s, and Apple Music Country. Both stations will accessible in 165 countries and are set to feature “exclusive original shows from the world’s top music hosts and artists”.

The announcement of the two shows come as part of Apple announcing that their leading worldwide radio, Beats 1, will now be named Apple Music 1. Oliver Schusser, vice president of Apple Music, Beats, and International Content.

mentioned that “Beats 1 was there bringing human curation to the forefront and drawing in listeners with exclusive shows from some of the most innovative, respected, and beloved people in music.” and speaking to Apple Music 1’s mission he went on to state that “Now, Apple Music radio provides an unparalleled global platform for artists across all genres to talk about, create, and share music with their fans, and this is just the beginning.”

The importance of a global reach is even more significant for Apple having expanded in 52 additional countries in Apri, making the platform available in 167 markets in total. 

The station will continue to broadcast from studios in Los Angeles, New York, Nashville, and London keeping their stellar line-up of hosts such as Zane Lowe, Ebro Darden, Brooke Reese, Dotty, Hanuman Welch, Matt Wilkinson, Nadeska, Rebecca Judd, and Travis Mills.
