Def Jam Africa extends in 3 new countries

3 new markets for Def Jam Africa

A few weeks ago, Universal Music announced the launch of a French-language division in the Dej Jam Africa label. Led by former rapper Black Kent aka Franck Kacou, their new offices will be located in Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal and Cameroon.

Jeff Harleston, the interim CEO of Def Jam Recordings said: “The reaction to the recent launch of Def Jam Africa showed the weight and respect that the Def Jam name and brand carries globally. We are excited to welcome these new markets to the Def Jam family.”

Def Jam is already breaking ground and wasting no time having already signed Suspect 95 from Côte d’Ivoire, Omzo Dollar from Senegal and Tenor from Cameroon, onto their ever-expanding African roster.
